50 Harvard Law School Students Can Access LAP’s Database for Free, Thanks to A Generous Donation

Thanks to a generous donation by Bryson Malcolm, Founder and CEO of Mosaic Search Partners, the next 50 Harvard Law School students who subscribe to LAP’s Clerkships Database from the following affinity organizations - WLA, HBLSA, JLSA, APALSA, MENALSA, NALSA, QTPOC, SALSA, La Alianza, and MLSA - using the registration code “Mosaic Gift Subscription” can access the platform for free this year.

Improving and diversifying the legal profession starts with diversifying judicial clerkships, considering that these prestigious positions are launchpads to future career success, including in private practice, yet clerkships have been historically shrouded in mystery and reserved for the well-connected. Mosaic Search Partners, the premier legal recruiting firm specializing in placements of historically underrepresented attorneys, is a logical partner in LAP’s efforts to diversify the ranks of judicial law clerks and future lawyers.

This is Mosaic Search Partners’ second generous donation to LAP this year on behalf of top law school affinity organization members. Earlier this month, Mosaic contributed so that Columbia Law School students could also access LAP’s Database free of charge this year. At a time when there’s been a systemic lack of support for LAP among law school leaders, we appreciate that others in the legal industry have stepped forward to fill the void, thereby signaling a shared commitment to transparency, accountability, and diversity in one of the legal profession’s most hierarchical and opaque spaces–the judiciary.

HLS students can register for Database access at survey.legalaccountabilityproject.org. On the registration page, where the platform asks where students learned about LAP, students should note “Mosaic Gift Subscription.” HLS students, like all Clerkships Database users, are required to upload student identification to verify their identities.

LAP is grateful that several donors have stepped forward to cover Clerkships Database costs for students this year. We hope more donors from more law schools will donate on behalf of students, thereby ensuring broad access to this critical information. At a time when trust in entrenched institutions is lacking, LAP has proudly emerged as a trusted, independent, third-party solution to historically intractable social problems.
