50 NYU Law Students Can Access LAP’s Database for Free, Thanks to Another Donation from Mosaic Search Partners
Thanks to another generous donation by Bryson Malcolm, Founder and CEO of Mosaic Search Partners, the next 50 NYU Law students who subscribe to LAP’s Clerkships Database from the following affinity organizations - APALSA, JLSA, BLSA, LALSA, MENALSA, NALSA, MLSA, OUTLAW, SALSA, WOCC, and Law Women - using the registration code “Mosaic Gift Subscription” can access the platform for free this year.
This is Mosaic Search Partners’ third donation to LAP this year on behalf of top law school affinity organization members. Earlier this year, Mosaic contributed so that Columbia Law and Harvard Law students could also access LAP’s Database free of charge. At a time when LAP’s transparency and accountability efforts have not been universally welcomed by law school leaders, we appreciate that others in the legal industry, including Mosaic Search Partners, have boldly stepped forward to fill the void, thereby signaling a shared commitment to transparency, accountability, and diversity in an area of the legal profession that has historically been shrouded in mystery–judicial clerkships and the judiciary.
Improving and diversifying the legal profession starts with diversifying judicial clerkships, considering that these prestigious positions are launchpads to future career success. Mosaic Search Partners, the premier legal recruiting firm specializing in placements of historically underrepresented attorneys, is a logical partner in LAP’s efforts to diversify the ranks of judicial law clerks and future lawyers, and to ensure that all clerkship applicants can make informed career decisions. LAP is grateful for Mosaic’s continued support.
NYU Law students can register for Database access at survey.legalaccountabilityproject.org. On the registration page, where the platform asks where students learned about LAP, students should note “Mosaic Gift Subscription.”
Last year, NYU Law students represented one of the highest proportions of LAP Database users by law school, due in part to the fact that New York University Law Review was one of LAP’s first law review bulk subscribers. Between Law Review subscribers and Mosaic subscribers, LAP anticipates serving many more NYU Law students and supporting them on their clerkship journeys this school year.
LAP is grateful that donors have stepped forward to cover Clerkships Database costs for students at several law schools this year. We hope more donors from more law schools will donate on behalf of students, particularly as LAP prepares to celebrate the one-year anniversary of our Clerkships Database launch in April, thereby ensuring broad access to this critical information. This is an easy way to seamlessly give back to students at your alma mater and support a cause offering tangible immediate benefit to law students, as well as to law clerks, the judiciary, and the legal profession generally.
At a time when trust in entrenched institutions is lacking, LAP has proudly emerged as a well-regarded, independent, third-party solution to historically intractable social problems. LAP is neither waiting on, nor beholden to, anyone to make the change we know is necessary.
