Law Schools Are Part Of The Problem -- And The Solution -- To The Broken Clerkship System

In Above the Law, Aliza compares LAP’s Clerkships Database - and its 1,300 candid post-clerkship surveys submitted by former clerks nationwide - to internal law school databases, and points out numerous deficiencies in a system that siloes off information at a handful of well-resourced schools and does not encourage candid information-sharing about negative clerkship experiences.

Law schools have a problem here. Their internal databases are incomplete at best; misleading at worst. Fortunately, LAP offers schools a solution! All we’re asking them to do is subscribe, for just $5 per student.

LAP’s Database is here. It’s happening — with or without schools. The only question is whether law schools will decide to benefit from the change LAP created.
